Privacy Policy
Effective September 20, 2026. This website, evaluator.biz, is operated by Plotline Evaluation LLC. This policy explains what we collect through it, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can.
The short version
- We never sell personal information. We do not rent it, trade it or share it for anyone’s marketing.
- Every inquiry is confidential. What you send us is read only by us and used only to answer you.
- We count visits with Google Analytics, and only if you accept analytics cookies.
- We show no advertising, build no marketing profiles, and do not add you to a mailing list.
What you send us
The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and your message. If you send a funding announcement, a deadline or details about your program or business, we use them to reply and to prepare the work you asked about. Nothing else.
Every inquiry is confidential. We do not share what you send us with anyone outside Plotline Evaluation unless you ask us to, or the law requires it. That includes the fact that you contacted us.
The form delivers your message to us by email. We keep the correspondence for as long as the conversation, and any work that follows from it, requires. Ask us to delete it and we will.
Please do not send personal information about program participants, patients, students or clients through the form. If your question involves data like that, tell us so, and we will arrange a secure way to receive it.
Cookies and analytics
When you first arrive, this site sets no cookies. A banner asks what you will allow, and your answer is remembered in a cookie named cookieadmin_consent so that we do not ask again on every page.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records which pages you view, roughly where you are (city level), the kind of device and browser you use, and how you reached us. Google Analytics does not store your IP address, and we do not try to identify anyone from this data. We use it to see which pages are useful. Google keeps it for no more than 14 months. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and you are not counted in our reports. Google’s tag still loads, so Google may receive a signal that a page was opened, without cookies and without anything that identifies you. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back, or block Google Analytics everywhere with Google opt-out add-on.
Other services this site relies on
- Hosting. Like every web server, ours keeps short-term logs of requests: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. They are used for security and troubleshooting.
- Security tools. The site records the IP address of failed attempts to log in to its administration pages. Ordinary visitors are not affected.
- Fonts. The typeface in our logo is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google’s servers to fetch it. Google Fonts privacy.
- Links to other sites. Our funding pages link to government and other official sources. Their privacy practices are their own.
The companies that host our website and carry our email handle this data on our behalf and only to provide those services. Our systems are in the United States, so if you contact us from another country, your message is processed here.
Evaluation data is handled separately
This policy covers this website. It does not cover the data we collect during an evaluation: the surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations and program records that make up our mixed-methods work. That data is governed by our written agreement with each client, by the consent each participant gives, and by any ethics review or data-sharing terms that apply to the project.
How we protect it
Security is part of our trade. Much of our work is with people who have every reason to be careful about who holds their words, and we hold everything we collect, from a one-line inquiry to a full evaluation dataset, to a high standard of security.
- This site is served only over an encrypted connection, so what you type into the form is encrypted on its way to us.
- Only our two principals see what you send us, and only the two of us see the data we hold.
- The site is protected against forced logins and is backed up.
- Evaluation data is stored, transferred and destroyed under the security terms written into each client agreement.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not tell you otherwise. If something ever went wrong with data you gave us, we would tell you promptly.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send the request through our contact form, which is how we take every privacy request, and we will act on it. We will not treat you differently for asking.
This site is written for organizations and the people who run them. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or how we use it changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top before the change takes effect.
